A Green Lantern game will be hitting consoles next summer, just in time for release of the upcoming film.

We learned many things about the upcoming Green Lantern film at this year’s Comic-Con including announcement of a movie-tin game. The announcement confirms rumors from last summer that Double Helix was creating a Green Lantern video game.

The game will be titled Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters, and is slated for a summer 2011 release. Few details were released, though it was noted that players will utilize “over a dozen constructs,” and “take flight across the deepest parts of the Universe.”

Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters gives players the chance to experience the world of the Green Lantern mythology in an interactive way, going beyond the events of the film and comic books,” said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President of Production and Development for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “The game is the first to center around DC Comics' Green Lantern franchise and we're excited to give fans the opportunity to experience the power of the ring with engaging gameplay.”

Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters is being developed for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii by Double Helix Games, and for the Nintendo DS by Griptonite Games.
