Earlier in the week, Maxis announced their next project titled Darkspore. Darkspore is a sci-fi action role-playing game that sets players against mutated forces to save the galaxy. Set to launch in February 2011, its design is based on the award-winning creature editor utilized in Maxis’ previous game, Spore. The team is drawing on their vast video game experience combined with the creature editor to make limitless customizations for the player.
Developers of the popular Call of Duty franchise reaffirmed that multiplayer will remain free to play after a YouTube video showed what could be a subscription-based service for the flagship Activision title.
Electronic Arts and 38 Studios have announced their newest title, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. Formerly known as Project Mercury, Reckoning takes players on an RPG adventure through a brand-new fantasy world created by R.A. Salvatore (The Darkelf Trilogy, Star Wars: The New Jedi Order) and Todd Mcfarlane (Spawn, The Amazing Spider-Man). Read more for details.
